23rd Dec 2017 Swingtime Welcomes 2018 with New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner and Dance
MELBOURNE, FL, November 17, 2017 – Swingtime – the 22-piece Big Band ensemble of the Melbourne Municipal Band – is again presenting an elegant New Year’s Eve celebration featuring dinner with a floor show, dancing to the sounds of a live band, and a midnight balloon drop. The New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner and Dance will be held Dec. 31 at the Holiday Inn Melbourne-Viera Conference Center.

The festivities will begin at 8 p.m. with piano music and a cash bar. Dinner includes a double entrée of Petite Filet and Chicken Marsala. A floorshow during dinner will feature the Swingtimers Vocal Trio performing music reminiscent of the Manhattan Transfer. After dinner, Swingtime will play for guests’ dancing pleasure until 1 a.m., accompanied by vocalists Len Fallen and Dorothy Wright. A traditional balloon drop and champagne toast with noisemakers will usher in the New Year at midnight.

“We’ll be transporting everyone to a time when New Year’s Eve celebrations were classy, stylish, and lots of fun,” said Art Martin, conductor of Swingtime. “This was a sell-out the last four years, and our patrons have told us it is a truly memorable experience.”

Tickets are $110 per person and may be ordered online at the Melbourne Municipal Band (MMB) website, www.melbournemunicipalband.org; by picking up a flyer/order form at any MMB or Swingtime event; or at the Holiday Inn Melbourne-Viera. A table for 10 may be reserved for $1,100.
