21st Dec 2018 Swingtime Welcomes 2019 with New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner and Dance
MELBOURNE, FL, November 15, 2018 – Swingtime – the 22-piece Big Band ensemble of the Melbourne Municipal Band – is again presenting an elegant New Year’s Eve celebration featuring dinner with a floor show, dancing to the sounds of a live band, and a midnight balloon drop. The New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner and Dance will be held Dec. 31 at the Hilton Rialto Place in Melbourne.

The festivities will begin at 7:30 p.m. with piano music by local favorite Klaus Kolb and a three-hour open bar. An elegant dinner with a floorshow will follow, featuring the Swingtimers Vocal Trio – Connie Maltby, Diana Sageser and Dave Hutson – performing music reminiscent of the Manhattan Transfer. After dinner, Swingtime will play for guests’ dancing pleasure until 12:30 a.m., accompanied by vocalists Len Fallen and Sally Hart. A traditional balloon drop and champagne toast with noisemakers will usher in the New Year at midnight.

“We’re very excited about this year’s Gala, as we are in an elegant new venue with a larger dance floor, and we have an expanded entertainment lineup,” said Art Martin, conductor of Swingtime. “We’ll be transporting everyone to a time when New Year’s Eve celebrations were classy, stylish, and lots of fun,”

Tickets are $125 per person and may be ordered online at the Melbourne Municipal Band (MMB) website, www.melbournemunicipalband.org; by picking up a flyer/order form at any MMB or Swingtime event; or at the Hilton Rialto Place. A table for 10 may be reserved for $1,250.
