10th Jul 2017 MMB Summer Youth Band Graduates to Present Public Concert July 13
MELBOURNE, Florida, June 15, 2017 – Graduates of the Melbourne Municipal Band’s (MMB) 10th Summer Youth Band music program will present a concert for parents and the public under the direction of conductor Art Martin. The event will be held Thursday, July 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Avenue. Admission is free.

The auditorium will be set up with long tables so the audience can bring a box dinner to enjoy in air-conditioned comfort during or prior to the concert. Drinks will be available at a nominal cost, with proceeds going to the Summer Youth Band.

``This group of talented young people will delight you with their music skills,” said Art Martin, MMB Executive Administrator, and coordinator of the summer music program. “This is the tenth anniversary of this MMB program, and our concert audience is always amazed when they see them perform.”

The free, annual music instruction program is open to all students enrolled in 6th through 12th grade who are interested in learning to play a musical instrument, or who already play a wind or percussion instrument.

The MMB is requesting donations from individuals and corporations to help sponsor this annual program, which benefits local youth. Contact Martin at the MMB office, 321-724-0555 for more information on how to support the Summer Youth Band.
